This course is for Registered Dental Assistants or DA who will take RDA board Exam, wanting to learn the proper use of techniques of Pits and Fissure Sealants. The course includes at least 4 hours of lecture, 4 hours of laboratory instruction, and 8 hours clinical instruction for a total of 16 clock hours (16 CE Units).

 

The student must provide a patient for the clinical instruction. 

Patients must:

  • 18 years old or if a minor a signed parent/guardian consent.
  • Be free of calculus and any health problems
  • Possess a minimum of 4 virgin, non-restored, sufficiently erupted natural teeth

Before acceptance the program, students must possess all of the following requirements. 

Program prerequisites:

  • 18 years and older
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Successful completion of Board approved RDA program with all necessary requirements for application for RDA licensure or currently possess an RDA license.
  • Each student must also be able to demonstrate knowledge and clinical competency in infection control prior to acceptance to the program.
  • Each student must always wear personal protective gear.
